Let's say Germany has sent 4 (depleted) divisions to Italy as exp-units.

I play as Italy. I have plenty of manpower. What must I mod-in to make these units take manpower from my own reserves to replenish themselves?

That is controlled by the .exe, not moddable. But if the host country would replenish the MP of expeditionary forces, they wouldn't really be expeditionary anymore now would thay?

Still, if you want to get around this, you could remove the expeditonary flag from the units in the save file I guess...

sigh... manually thru the readme?

No.. wait isn't there save-edit programs around? and why hasn't paradox released tools to mod the exe? This engine is ANCIENT. Can't they just release the tools and let the community figure things out?

AFAIK the exp. force flag won't go away but since Germany is no more, they will never be able to reclaim the troops, so you practically inherited them. OR they may be removed from the game when they surrender. If you remember the infamous Vichy-crash, that had something to do with exp. forces being reclaimed on the surrender of someone involved, and IIRC they made some changes to prevent that. Can't remember exactly what though.

slan: what is so funny?

Do you know what an .exe is? Or what it does?

A) So, when I inherit them, I can reinforce them with manpower from my country?
B) It is a file that connects the other files and keeps it running.

I SERIOUSLY fail at understanding why it can't be edited.

JIU: What is it with this tone? Are you intentionally trying to annoy me or are you just ...... ?

Nope. It is a a bunch of codes in the language the computer understands. Not me, not you, but the computer. There are multiple tools to edit an .exe file. It is called reverse-engineering, and it is explicitely forbidden by the license agreement you sign by buying the game. And it is quite a hard task by the way.

As I said before, the answer isno. That means you can not reinforce them. They are not your units. Even if they still exist on the map after the home country disappears (and this depends on GIE) they still belong to that former coutnry.

An EXE file is a executable that has been compiled. There sometimes are thousands of other files that are brought together by a compiler program and converted into a language that the operating sytem can then run. EXE files are not meant to be decompiled at will, especially by anyone not owning the original compiler.

So basically it is a file that connects the other files in the program and keeps the program running (like I said). Alternately one could say it is just an instruction for the computer of how to read the files in the program. I don't study IT though (and neither do you?), so just chill.

Do you know if I can reinforce the units with my own manpower pool? Also can you give me a good savegame editor?

LMFAO. I've only been writing code since most likely before you were born. (1978).

I ansered the manpower and the answer is still NO. Two little letters.

Notepad for editor.
