I have a question - how do you deal with diplomats? I haven't played this after getting Res Publica as my last DLC yet, since I had exams. But I recall that this game has diplomats with names, and those names don't change from 1444 to 1821...So you have the same immortal diplomat travelling and conducting missions for three centuries, or the same priest from the great grandfather's era converting territories of the empire under the great grandson.

Did this get fixed? Or perhaps I am mistaken, and diplomats and missionaries and such were never immortal?

err, all diplomats are vampires that prey on foreign virgins, hence why you never *ever* let them unoccupied. God knows what they would turn on if so.thought this was common knowledge :blink:

The best (maximum probability) way to kill your king is to put him in charge of a small stack of merc infantry (~2-5k) and have him assault a fort over and over. This will give him three death rolls per month: one for being alive, one for being a general in charge of an army, and one for being in a battle.

You aren't allways meant to have 6 6 6 ruling your nation, sometimes you have to play a game with 0 0 0 after 0 0 0, but being succesful with bad kings are more rewarding then being succesful with great kings.

at some point i'd also like to have fun, and maybe if i RP based on my stats i dont want to die terrible to waves of 0's

Interesting. -3 stab is costly tho :S

Not that costly. You can comfortably sit on -2 for long periods of time, to be honest. -3 stability is pretty funny though; Palace Coup seems to have a relatively high MTTH (either that or I got 'lucky' with it firing twice back to back), which causes some silly shenanigans if you have junk ruler and junk heir. Not being able to declare war at -3 stability sucks though.

MTTH of Palace Coup is 17 years if at peace, 35 at war. Occasionally nice, but probably not with sitting at -3 stab and peace for.

Yeah. I don't think you'd go out of your way for it, but if you do somehow find yourself at -3 stability out of your own input (bad RNG with stab hits), and it happens that you have a junk ruler, it's probably not a bad play to wait and see for a bit, especially if it lines up well with needing a period of internal cleaning (annexing vassals, getting claims, etc.).

But I recall that this game has diplomats with names, and those names don't change from 1444 to 1821...So you have the same immortal diplomat travelling and conducting missions for three centuries, or the same priest from the great grandfather's era converting territories of the empire under the great grandson.

It would make more sense if the envoys were simply known by high-ranking titles, e.g. you get a Missionary called 'Master of the Order of Preachers' and another called 'Superior General of the Society of Jesus'. That way, it would make sense that a) your realm has so few of them and b) the appearance/disappearance of such a title is a rare event.
