My Nation Lost All overseas cores when I formed the USA

I was trying to get the "Vassalize your overlord as a colonial nation achievement" just noticed England becoming GB disallowed my ability to get the achievement
-slap in the face

said well, I can finally be the USA now
-slap in the face

GG guess it's dead

In that situation i would release Scotland as a vassal and feed them some english land to core for me. Maybe an Irish minor too. Rather own the land indirectly than sitting through the overextension to own it directly.

1) that is lame. Probably worth a bug report if you feel like it.

2) it doesn’t have to be game over if you want to keep playing and are willing to deal with an unpleasant few years. You’ll get rebels everywhere but you can kill them. You seem to have a bunch of admin points, just start coring and you’ll certainly finish long before you could see a second round of rebels. If you want, think of it as a massive underground movement of English loyalists ;)

I mean, technically, you could have revived England via rebels in any province that has English culture but no GB core. (Maybe an ex-TC?) But then you formed the USA, which made you ineligible for the achievement.

Still, feels bad to lose all those cores. :-/

so i fired up the save and counted 12,281 ADM just to core it, most of that could be stated (about 75%)

GB was a vassal
Leon was a Vassal both have been liberated by switching to USA
Also i don't have a Clergy or Nobility

at 15AMD/month= 819 months
( 3 + 6(Ruler) + 5(Advisor) + 1 (PP)) = 15

68 years of 15 ADM/ month. not impossible but as a republic it's just not going to happen
maybe I can email the save file to a streamer see if they want to save it. lol

yeah i know my Nation could be bigger, i just wanted that silly achievement, I've blobbed many games in the past. Lately I've enjoyed staying within the realm of realism and letting the AI butcher themselves

I may be missing something, but if it's that much to core it you should have a ton of 0% overextension land. That can just be ignored for the present (or forever). Coring should be 10x OE for states and 5x for territories, so you should "only" be paying 1500 admin if you unstate all the removed cores and don't worry about 0 OE land. Still, totally understand if it's not worth it.

a few unpleasent years?

68 in-game years just to make enough ADM to re-core this

that's 50% of the time left in this playthrough
looks like GB might be unkillable in this playthrough

i've got over 3,000hrs in this game. GB has over 3,000 Years GG GB

Again, not trying to push you to play if you don’t want to. I’ve certainly quit over less :)

but, the reason you can’t core Oxford is that it’s inland. If you core the coastal provinces in Britain once they’re done you can core the inland ones. And I do think most of your newly uncored territory is 0 OE and can be ignored without doing much harm.

yeah i know there is no AE, but once the rebels start they aren't going to stop. and i won't be able to keep up with fake population values*

But i do have a beautiful Navy, 6-6-6-4 Generals 90% Tradition. glad i got to use it vs AI cogs

What's your primary culture? I think it's still possible to get the achievement by letting England get a core through rebels - though I'll have to check the game files since there may be a hard block when GB is formed. Basically, you need to flip a province to a non-English culture (American, Norman, Scottish or Irish all seem plausible) and force GB to lose their core on it. Then flip the culture back to English and make sure that English (not British) separatists spawn in it. If you get an English core in an English-culture province, all that remains is to release that province as a vassal.

my primary culture is "American"

oh, cool possibility to spawn "England" i could try that, although my over extension is almost 300%...
i think it might be impossible. i would be happy to email the save file to anyone who wants to try to save this, i don't feel determined to watch the entire country burn. (due to some dumb bug)

Unfortunately, the wiki says that you're disqualified from this achievement if you form any nation:

Forming another country as the colonial nation will prevent this achievement even if that country is a colonial formable like USA or Australia.

) that is lame. Probably worth a bug report if you feel like it.
The formation decision warns players what will happen if they form the USA either as a former colonial nation/non-colonial nation, so what happened is perfectly WAD. I can see why OP didn't read it through, he probably thought it's the same as any other nation formation, but the warning/description is there, so it's not even like the introduce heir 'trap' button which makes every RM partner domineering towards you without a warning.

BRILLIANT

you guys saved this run from annihilation.

I'll just pop out some vassals
can't do client states, but that's okay i can manage this.

I feel like i read the decision to form the USA, and it said nothing about the possibility of losing all my overseas cores and vassals.
since it was one button i clicked it and accepted the new ideas and traditions, but forming nations could use a "free dlc overhaul*"

say hello to Scotland, Sligo and England my new vassals.
Thank you all for your help
