Hey there guys! First time posting on these forums in forever; considering I've played ck2 on and off for 2 years now...

Anyway, as I am currently taking a break from EUIV, I've been playing some ck2, with the CK2+ mod, which I find to really spice up the game...
I have all the DLC's as well.

I started as the duke of savoy at 1066, and have expanded my way into creating the kingdom of upper burgundy (roughly the de-jure Kingdom arles+ a bit more, upper burgundy was cooler!)... I'm one of the most powerful vassals inside the HRE, and I have my council fully under control...

Now, I want to avoid the game taking the route I find they normally do, IE, getting boring! To that purpose, I haven't been using the character finder, except for marriages, I've been trying to roleplay as best I can, sticking to my (french) culture and not seduce scumming every genius I can get my ****(ahem, hands) into.

However I want MORE, i need a purpose, a goal, something to really keep the game interesting... So I'de like some suggestions!
Obviously, as I'm playing on ck2+, No acheivments are available, but Ive never found ck2's very challenging... so just some tips/advice on how to spice things up, and maybe make me LOSE once in a while!

Thanks guys!

And when you're done setting up crusader states in Jerusalem, Syria, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Cyprus, use your crusaders to carve a new realm somewhere relatively untouched or messy, like Iberia or Russia. Or alternatively try to reclaim your old kingdom if your "regent" has messed it up in your absence.

Switch to elective gavelkind and have many kids, isn't that enjoyable and make your heart beat faster every time your ruler came close to dying? ;)

Satanist.

Thanks guys for your responses, I appreciate them... Trying to swap into Jerusalem sounds like fun! Unfortunately, Popey just called crusade, and the fatty-mids are rocking 60k soldiers, mopping up the levant shores of 5k irish stacks, so gee gee crusade... Next year in Jerusalem I guess

Start making the journey to EU's time. There's a CK2 --> EU converter.

Try to get tech points, rebel against the Pope, and start making your realm more centralized.

I find, when you do this, that when you convert to EU4 it's not quite as drastic, and it's more historical!
