Hello!

It's been a while since I last played EU and I can't remember how steam works. I just bought Wealth of Nations and Res Republica but I can't find how to actually install the expansions and play the game.

Help is highly appreciated as I want to prepare for an upcoming LANparty :)

Any DLC or expansions you own will be installed automatically, as long as you have the base game installed.

Look in the launcher if you have it in there it is installed. If it isn't there then try restarting steam so steam starts to download.

If you didn't change steam settings, it will automaticaly be installed. Sometimes it requires a steam restart.

To check if things are installed, rightclick on EU IV in your Steam library ---> settings ---> DLC.
Here you can enable DLC and look if they are installed. If the DLC is marked, but not installed, try restarting steam.

In EU IV you will see it obvoiusly in the launcher too and can enable it in the launcher too.

If you bought them in Steam they should already be in your library and automatically added to the game.
If you bought them outside, you should have received Steam codes. To add those to Steam, in the Steam client click on the lower left side where it says 'add a game' then 'activate a product on Steam' and enter the codes you got.

As a side note, in a multiplayer game only the host needs to have the DLCs, so if anyone in the 'LAN party' has the DLCs, he can host the game and everybody else just needs the core game, they will automatically get the DLCs (for the multiplayer game only).

For me, whenever I buy a DLC I need to manually go into the download queue and start the download. Either that or restart Steam so it recognizes an update.
