HOI2 Polish (changed language on english in file settings.cfg) + english patch 1.3a + 1.3b +latest 20060107 DAIM (installed without option "Modified Events" in the installer) + SMEP 4.0
Sempron 64 2500+, 1,5 GB RAM, Geforce 6600 128 MB
WinXP +all Microsoft updates, driver updates, BIOS etc.

I can't send e-mail to Tech Stuff becouse I play in not Vanilla.

Everything from this list is done:
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4.

In 1942 game crashes radomly with general error 1000 (it means: application error and some data in accompat.... file). When i play I do save every day. And after a few game days - crash. Now I have to search for save which will not crash in the same time of game eg. 17.00 19 june 1942. I load it and do nothing and if it can go thru date of instant crash I play it. And so on ... so on. Playing like this - crash - good save - past about half a year. I was thinking that mayby some event crashes a game ... But searching for good saves I avoided about 6 crashing points. I tried to remove from save a line about sleep events - but it changes nothing. Does anybody has the same problems - and how to handle with it ? Turn to vanilla ? But how I remember in vanilla I have crashes too. But not so often. If it is some mistake in Mod scripting, why I can loading another save avoid the date of crash so many times ? Mayby save is too long ? 17 MB. Mayby Polish version updated by english patch ... but I don't think so - in my opinion it's only another text. And patch updates this text in English, not in polish. And someone who plays in Polish will have errors in text only. And I played from 1936 to 1942 with 1-2 crashes. But these years it was no situation that I can't go thru some date ....

If somewhere is wrong line or any mistake I probably can fix it manually. But how to find it ? When I deleted some data from any file, game in loading time show to me exactly where the error is. But when I writed something wrong to save file - it crashes only with general error. (I did that of course to learn something)

In application errors only the same error:

hoi2.exe, version 1.0.0.1, error address:0x0002de3f.

please help me somebody

sorry for irregular English

you aren't the only one with that problem.... my game crashes every so often... the only way i have found to get around it is save often so i don't lose much lol
hmm ... if only to load last save .... I have to search working saves ... and so on every 5 game's day - it kills all pleasure

Question: do you play pure vanilla or with mods ?

my only mod is the infinite time mod.... that may be the problem. i have considered that. do you know of others with this problem from this mod?
I didn't add this mode to my game. But I think is a small possibility that it generates such a problems in your game. I use computers from many years and sometimes it is problem with bad memory. Sometimes after HD defragmentation everything was ok. But there is worst that maker of the game don't tell what is the possibility that this errors are commons. I think he knows exactly, but don't want to tell. If he was right, he will told: my game in 99% don't craches. And all crashes are hardware related or MODS related. Or: our game crashes often and sorry about that ..... till new patch you have to suffer tortures
I recently has played Civilization IV. There is a lot of problem with wrong programming. They know about it exactly, becouse they answered on my e-mail. But .... officially all problems are hardware related ..... hehe :D

yeah that's true... my computer is only a few months old so that mostly rules out hardwere being to old. but yeah i think i'm goingt o blame the mod... most vanilla errors should be fixed by the third patch

I have read something about SMEP MOD and some people complain
about problems with crashes ..... now I understand that it's barely immposibble to made good work without huge testing ....
I'll back to Vanilla 1.3b + DAIM (with option not to Modify Events - only AI files) ... mayby it will be more stable - arghhh  - so many times of plaing wasted - save will be unredable without installed MOD

Would be more interested in this, since i plan on buying "Doomsday". But if too much crashs....

I remember HoI1 sometimes crahes to desktop without error message at all, sometimes it showed a error with direct x. but other games don´t crash much on my comp, since it is quite stable one ( asus board, HQ ram, intel proc etc. ).
