How to get rid of one annoying song

Hello fellow Grand Strategy Nerds!

I have an annoying problem. There is one background song which i find very annoying. I can skip it when i oppen the console and enter "nextsong".

But this is unsatisfying. It breaks my flow, and isnt a solution, but just doctoring around at the symptoms. So how can i get rid of this song permanently? And how can i find out its name?

When the song is playing mouse over the date and time ingame and it will day what song is playing, if memory serves. Removing it? I can't help there

Don't know where to find DLC songs though.

The best practice would be to create a simple mod that just overwrites the music\songs.txt or relevant playlist file for a music DLC.

If you're incapable of modding it yourself, then tell us (or better yet, the modding subforum) the name of the song you don't want, and someone can easily mod it out for you in under a minute.

No. Modding music/playlist files will not change checksum, so this mod wouldn't affect ironman or achievements.

While this is indeed the simplest and fastest way to achieve the desired result, it's a bad practice (and terrible habit) to modify vanilla files. You'd also have to repeat the process every time PDS patches EU4, and everyone here knows how frequently PDS updates.

In a short flurry of 2-3 updates, once every few months.

Of course, updating the mod is almost exactly the same amount of work (because of the supported_version field), with only slightly lower frequency.

I use the method of lowering music to 0 then raising the volume up again a lot, I can assure that it works!
