How to get rid of an allie

It is 1938 and I am playing Rumenia. Back in 1936 I allied Poland as I was a little weakling by then. But now, I don't want them to be my allie anymore, I want to allie Germany!
I can not get rid of the Poles as I am at war with the allies (uk+france and all the rest)....is there a way ot break the alliance?

not that i know of in that state. I think you may have to make peace with the Allies or the U.K before you can leave the alliance with Poland.

Search for Axis in the save games. When you find it, down below Axis you will find your alliance. Look for one with POL and ROM in it. Delete that entire line including alliance your tags equals brackets and all that. Reload and there you are. Do not forget to back up the save in case you break it.

Didn't want to. I wished to get a somewhat historical germany from 1939 onwards...... I eh,sort of cheated.....After having taken alllof Italy and Paris I used the 'acceptall' cheat for a peace with the allies.....I took Italy and unfortunately can not release them ?????

Now I am allied with zie Zermans!
