How to get expeditionary force back?

I am playing Victoria Revolutions as Brazil. I just sent a couple units to the USA as expeditionary forces. I know that I read in the wiki that I could get the units back at any time I wanted.

I look on the military screen and see nothing special. When I send a diplomat to the US, I only see where I can send more units, but nothing to get some back.

I don't see where I can request them back. How do I get those forces back?

By the way, we have no alliance with the USA is that why I can't see how to get them back?

Find the unit that you sent to them, and click on it. There should be a button in the unit panel for recalling it IIRC.

Is there an easy way to find them? They don't show up on my military screen and I was just scanning the map for my flag.

Zoom out the map, drag a big box with your mouse pointer around the general area you suspect the unit may be in. I think that should work.

if you can't see your units due to fog, you might consider cheating a bit to get rid of the fog
