I colonized a sector that as a cosmite generating site but my ally had some units on it when I colonized it so it isn't generating any for the colony.

How do I get them off without going to war?

do you have open borders with the ally? is the sector in question in the middle of your territory? the armies of the ally there might not have/want to go through more of your territory to get back to theirs

I do have open borders and the colony is isolated not connected to anything else.

Edit. Nix the above - it is an NPC faction, not an ally.

then it's the AI that's derpy, my guess. unless you absolutely need the cosmite, i'd say you can let them say there until the decide to move.

one more question though: you say ally but do you mean ally commander or friendly NPC faction?

Sorry, not an ally commander. It is the paragon NPC faction with a Friendship relation
