Hello, new payer here. I'm a count and there are a castle (mine), bishopric (belongs to my vassal), and town (belongs to my liege's vassal) in my county. My Liege is a doge of Pisa. How do I put my own vassal in that town? The town belongs to me de jure, but how do I make a de jure claim on it? Cant find anywhere, unless there's no way to do that.
What would be my other options to get that town for my own burgher. Very annoying to have a county where your tax money goes to another ruler :D

Hi,

You systematically get a county claim (or something) CB in that kind of situation. Check the diplomacy menu of the owner (or the vassal of pisa that is his liege) and you should get the option to use the CB.

You have to keep track of the vassals/lords and who is under whom. For a city/barony/bishop its the county. Now that county might be under a count or a duke. Who them might be under a king. If you are all in the same country, you are at the mercy of crown law. So you might not be able to press your claim. If its a foreign holder, you might have to declare war on the entire country - which is a game issue for years because no one is going to commit to an all out war for some pissant barony in the middle of no where.

If you are willing to take the time, one trick is to get the holder to rebel thereby allowing you to declare war on them without other entanglements. I've had the Byzantine Empire holding a town and it took 300 years to get it. The issue is what ever the warscore is to win. You might have to take over 10 counties or win X number of battles. More often than not its not worth the time and $$$ unless you make your move at a very opportune time
