How to fix action lag in Vicky MP?

Long story short, me and my friend have been trying to play Vicky in MP for years now and we've been unable to do so because the person who isn't host always has massive lag between when they click to do an action, and when it actually occurs.

How do you get around this?

Short answer: Either upgrade your internet (both of you), or get better computers to run it.

I have the same problem playing on a lan with 2 computers that can zoom through the game on single player, the more powerful hosts but the other one can barely play even though it shouldn't have a problem

anyone have a real answer to this question....is it windows vista maybe? I've tried setting affinity to single core, making sure both were run in admin mode, changing the one computer from wireless to wired(maybe it was losing packets?) but to no avail. I have vicky ricky 2.01. Anyone found a solution to this problem?
