In EU3, how do you delay the alliance leader making peace? I'm one province off getting vassalisation, however the alliance leader keeps making peace beforehand. If I get the nation to cede provinces, I take a bb hit and it adds .75 every year due to being a fellow HRE member. Any ideas? I might just take the bb hit and then leave the HRE, but that'll probably have long term consequences.

Don't do that. HRE provinces that you don't have cores on will stay in the HRE when you leave, and go to the Emperor.

To be honest, I don't know what you can do at this point, other than not answering the call to arms in the future and using the Alliance CB to start your own war.

Honestly, the AI seems to be programmed to prevent you from getting a good peace resolution if you aren't the alliance leader. It always does a peace agreement before you can get any significant gain. When you aren't the alliance leader, the best thing to do is raise war taxes and stay out of the fight.

Agree, my observation too and it's really annoying!

Or try to get the best you can. I was Sweden allied to Teutonic Order, them as the alliance leader. I just did a smash and grab - occupied one province and demanded that in a separate peace treaty as quickly as possible.

I don't think that the AI is trying to prevent the player from getting any war spoils so much as it is trying to get the best deal for itself. If you peace out early with a lot of concessions, that'll hurt the AI's position considerably, so it would be kind of nonsensical if they waited for you to accomplish your goals. That said, it would be nice if there was something like Vicky II's system where everyone on the winning side can have a slice of the pie.

Have to disagree Eon because plenty of times I've gain 100% warscore and Alliance leader makes White peace. I think the best strategy is to decide what type of alliance you are in and settle from there on. So if you are in an alliance with a small nation who you wish not to see grow then make it white peace by taking all the provinces. If it's an backstabbing alliance then don't get involved and use spies. I've also seen the AI attack an alliance member so they may enter a war against me. Literally, the AI just makes defensive positions against everyone but blitz me like it's open season. ;/

I've tended to see this as well and it is really annoying... However, you can also try to grab a tiny piece of land or something else right at the beginning, I think that is probably the best approach.
