I just find it kinda silly that if, say, I have a claim on the duchy of Barcelona, I can declare war on the duke of Barcelona('s liege) for all his holdings in the duchy, but if I AM the duke of Barcelona, and 3 of the counties in the duchy are held by the HRE, I have to fight him 3 times to get them back.

I totally agree with you but some people say that it would allow more blobbing. I think blobbing is a result of the basic premise in this game where vassals can attack outwards without fear of losing land all the while having their large liege protect them from external enemies. That kind of system seems to promote blobbing. Empires/Kingdoms are like Amoebas in this game. I don't think the attempts at creating internal strife are working well though factions are a step in the right direction.

There should really be a de-jure duchy and kingdom CB, not just county level and lower. That would solve a lot of issues.

Either that or a de-jure claims equivalent of "enforce all claims", or include de-jure claims in "enforce all claims"

In fact why on earth can't you war to enforce all your claims, de-jure or otherwise.

#4 tends to be the most effective of the list. Just make sure you don't go after the leader of the rebellions until after you've taken all the supporters.

But to add to this list, I'd like to just say that Peace Treaties are liked to characters, not to nations or titles. If the king of Norway loses his position (by dying, by rebellion, or by stepping down), the peace treaty goes away and you can war dec again.

This worked out marvelously. It took a couple years, but my agents eventually caused the counties to rebel against Norway...all but two, anyway. I immediately declared war on the remaining four or five, and invaded them. I ended up taking them all, save for three (the original two plus 1 that Norway's ally Sweden snatched away from me).

I'll continue going after the remaining counties, but William the Conqueror just died at the ripe old age of 65, and his eleven year old son is barely hanging onto his throne with all the in-fighting I'm now experiencing.

This game is truly awesome.....
