I'm looking for a game AI in observer mode. And I want to add hyperlines between some countries. In the list of console commands this is not found. The mod (NSC2) allows this to be done through construction in several stages, both systems must belong to an Empire that builds hyperlines. But I need to build a hyperline between systems belonging to different empires (or even anyone else).
Perhaps, somebody knows the working way?

There are multiple write ups and videos out on save editing which will explain it better than I ever could but a word of advice Ill give you is always make a backup of your save in case you break it.

Figured out, how to edit them. In the file "gamestate" the name of the system is associated with its ID, example:
"98={
coordinate={
x=265.120
y=-133.990
origin=4294967295
randomized=yes
}
type=star
name="Ugantu"

Existing hyperlane are listed below, have the form:

" {
to=807
length=37.000
}
{
to=272
length=37.000
}
{
to=897
length=26.000
}
{
to=635
length=27.000
bridge=yes
}"

So the question. What do mean "bridge=yes", what is bridge in hyperlane?

So the question. What do mean "bridge=yes", what is bridge in hyperlane?

I have no idea what bridge means but I did just successfully add a hyperlane to my game I just copy and pasted this...

{
to=635
length=27.000
bridge=yes
}

To the bottom of the hyperlane lists of the two systems I wanted to connect. Then changed the to= to the corresponding system id. For the length, and Im sure theres a better way, I just found an existing hyperlane that looked about the same distance between the two systems I was connecting and used its distance. And I left the bridge line alone. It looks the same as the rest on my map and seems to function correctly so Im happy. I did not try it without the bridge line so while Im not sure what it does it seems like you can leave it alone.

I could create or delete hyperplanes, I just wonder, what the bridges are there. In the game, their influence is not noticeable.
The length - is simply the distance that must be covered when traveling along the hyperplane. You can set a small distance with a large visual length, and vice versa, there is no problem.

I quote a comment to mod:

Not working with 2.6.1

Suggested there "Otter Editor", including version 2, also do not work. In General, this should be the official console command.

@rubert Does not work. Notifications are popping up. But they are useless. Moreover, it did not work in observer mode, but in player mode it could (earlier, when it was still working) work only in between the systems studied.

Well I don't think you'll find any other solutions I'm afraid, the editors do work, so you must be getting something wrong somewhere. There is no actual console command for creating hyperlanes, it's all done through scripted effects, which is how the editors do it.

Are you trying to create hyperlanes in observer mode? I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. Try using the "debugtooltip" and "play" console command to take control of one of the empires. You should be able to create the hyperlanes you want, and then you can switch back to observe mode when you are done.

Also hyperlanes don't appear instantly, they might take up to a month to appear on the map.

step 1. find and use the coordinates of the systems and Pythagoras to work out the lane distance
step 2. add the lane as described above in BOTH systems in the save file including the calculated length. it will not function if you only add it to the one system

potentially and more annoyingly step 3.
IF you have already explored that system you will also have to edit the information in the latter part of the save that contains all the scouting you have done so that the new hyperlane does not appear unexplored permanently. either way the lane will now work and the arrow inside the system perimeter will appear

@natevandrake You write extra conditions to the creation of a hyperlane through editing saved games. Just add the path in the system A from system B, and vice versa, and the length may be any (I used to have 30) - and it works. Nothing else is needed. Why have you written your "instructions" when I answered that add hyperlane, editing save - is not clear.

@Aed Yes it did! Menu 2 editor works to create hyperlane. However, I use mod Stellar Maps, a ring galaxy (in which the core is filled with star systems). And even though the screenshot from the mod page shows 5 hyperlanes leading from the core to the galaxy ring, I always have only 1, and I add a few via save editing (Editor Menu 2 allows me to create hyperlane only between my systems, so I edit the saves).
