Ok, after playing East India Company for a number of years I couldn't pass up the latest discounts from Steam so I picked up Privateer, Pirate Bay, and the Battle of Trafalgar and completed the East India Company collection. I am playing Privateer in the sandbox mode and I accepted a mission to locate and kidnap an Empire Diplomat for Sweden. They gave me the area were the frigate was last seen with a possible escort ship. The mission had to be completed by 1634. I found the ship right away and captued the ship with the diplomat. The mission details told me to take him to any port that Sweden owns and turn him in. The year that my game currently is in is 1631 .. 3 full years before the mission deadline.
First Question how do I turn him in ... the only thing I can figure out to do with him is to sell him. Second question why do I get a message around October of 1631 telling me that I have failed to complete the mission. I get this message if I keep the diplomat or if I sell him ... it dosen't matter what I do with him. Now, one thing I did do is when I entered the Swedish capitol I noticed there was a better captain available and I replaced my then current captain with him. Is that causing the game to give me the error message? If that is the reason for the message is there any way to fix it without starting over? Or do I just take the ding in reputation from Sweden?
