How to change the game language?

Hi,

I know there's an in-game option. Setting it up (and restarting) did not change the in-game language. I guess it is because I have a Steam version and so Steam settings override the game settings. There are lots of untranslated text in my native localization.

I know that registering my game key will unlock the support sub section, but I believe that I have to link my Paradox account to my Steam account, which is not something that I would even consider to do...

Changing the language of individual games
The language of many games can be changed independently from the Steam client language.

1. Log into your Steam account
2. Right click on a game from the Steam game library and choose Properties.
3. Go to the Language tab
4. Select the language you wish to use from the drop-down menu
5. Click OK
6. If the game supports the language you have selected, files for that language may need to be downloaded before you can play.

Go to :
"~\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III\settings.txt"
and change "language=l_whatever" by "language=l_english"
If you use a mod you maybe need to change thist in mod sub directory too

I suggest, as a general rule, if you want to use mods, to play Paradox games in english.

You do not have to link your steam and paradox accounts to register the game. I do not remember having to do such a thing.

You did not have to do it earlier indeed. Now that they reworked the forum though, it seems to be mandatory. When clicking on register a game (and signing up for my Padox account), I can read:

To activate your keys, you must first connect your Steam account. You may also copy/paste the key directly into the Steam client.

And there's a button redirecting to a Steam loggin page.

Use "Reedem code" instead of "My keys". Just copy paste the code steam give you. No need of linking paradox account and steam.
