While riding a bus into the CBD along Brisbane's Busway network when a flash of brilliance came to me out of nowhere. We can make our own busways in Skylines. Here's how:
First you draw a bit of road completely separate from your main road system and then build a bus depot and a fire station attached to it. If you don't build the firestation the bus depot will burn down.
You then draw a network where you want your busses to go, being careful not to connect it to normal traffic roads. You will also need to de-zone any plots that end up attached to it.
Then place a bus route along your new busway (It's in white.)
It works perfectly and gives you an efficient gridlock free bus service. It's much more nimble and easier to place then a rail or highway system through a built city.
The only way this could be better is if we had specifically designated bus roads so it could be integrated into the main grid.
Enterprising city builders could also use the asset creator to make pre-fab busway stops.
