How to break an ironman save and allow console use?

Long story short; I'm min maxing trade (aiming for 100k monthly income) and want to run a test on something(Goods Produced modifiers) from the stable position I'm in using the console, as it's the only way to do it without playing through the next 50 years.

Is there any easy way to just take a save out of ironman mode so I can do this?

There is no easy way. The tools that I know about are: paperman, ironmelt, skanderbeg and a trick to make eu4 convert the save game. But they all have problems and limitations

Yeah we got another way of doing it, which lead to an unstable game, after we ran our tests it forced EU4 to uninstall itself somehow after a crash, thus rendering all ironman games to think the game was modified, so no working Ironman games, which means anything we achieve can be called cheating, so we'll be restarting, but our tests are done! I'm curious what way you used that had such drastic results. Would you like to share it?

We used the Paperman converter, which changes the save file to a text file, loaded it fine, and it caused the game to crash after a few months. After that crash Steam didn't detect EU4 as being installed, but verified the game and it ran again, but the backup save we made (which will always work as Ironman under normal circumstances) no longer allowed achievements, nor did any other previous saves.

Not sure exactly what happened, but we got our 1600 Eco Hegemon goal, now are restarting fully in Ironman to do a WC 100k trade income game

In this case your installation is probably broken in some way. The most likely thing is that you have extra files in your eu4 installation folder or in the eu4 folder in Documents. To fix that you can try a clean reinstall as described in my guide on reddit about common startup problems with version 1.29.

If I understand your question and you want to allow the use of console in an ironman game I can tell you that I've had great success using EU4ConsolePatcher.
Just download the binary from the release section on the Github page and follow the instructions on how to use it.
