In the 'vanilla' (unmodified) version of the game, there is no in-game way of achieving it.
You could just edit the save file, though, and replace all of your tags with the tag for Italy (i.e. do a search-and-replace with your tag as the search term and the Italy tag as the replacer term).
Since it's just changing the name of the country, I wouldn't really consider it cheating.
