If Tottenham is the seat of the county (i.e. its image is displayed in the upper half of the province view) then it belongs to the count of Middlesex (you?) and you cannot give it away separately. If you give the county to someone he gets that barony and makes it his seat. The only exemption is if you give the county to the local bishop, then the bishop will make his bishopric the county seat and the barony can then be given away to someone separately.
Thanks for the tips, that makes a lot of sense... I just have my game open and I'm in control of the Barony of Tottenham, however, I'm looking at the Upper Half of the Province View to see the name of the County of Capital and it's not called Tottenham, but "Westminster" So I'm a bit confused by what I quoted from you above, cause it appears to me I have 4 holdings in my province of Middlesex... Westminster - County Capitial, City of London, Bishopric of St. Pauls, and finally the Barony of Tottenham.
Edit.... Nevermind, I see it now... Guys as an FYI what you need to do is once you're ready to give out the "Granted Land Title" make sure the button of "Included Lesser Titles" is checked, cause once you have that checked, you'll be able to see some Baronies that were not shown before like Tottenham, but naturally it's probably better to ignore them as Leviathan07 said and just give only bishop titles out, and than pass the county titles along with the barony in the province and the let the AI sort that out for itself, heh.
