Playing the demo. I have a couple of unlanded sons and I want to make them barons rather than counts so I don't actually give away part of my duchy but I cant figure out how to do this? Any help?

HeheThat's good picking 800 barons after the Norman conquest was going to be a pain. As it is it gets pretty funny when you have 30 titles to give out. I feel like I'm down the list so far I'm just pulling people off the street saying, "Hey you don't seem to be a drooling idiot, would you like to be count of Wessex?"
HeheI start out giving counties to all my loyal courtiers, with the baronies included. Giving them a county is +40 in relations, if you include two additional baronies with that it's +80. Plus, if you give them the entire thing, they get to pick the barons. The barons won't be grateful to you, but it saves you a lot of clicking.

Two methods as explained:
1.) Go to Grand Landed Title button under diplomacy for the character you want to give it to, which will show baronies.
2.) If you want to assign a random, new character, then click on the Province, find the barony/church/city, right-click on the image and the button to the left will do that.
Yeah same here. If you want to give away a county, let the count pick the barons. When playing as a Duke or above I don't concern myself with picking the Barons personally as I feel it's beneath my attention![]()
If you want to give away a whole county, DON'T pick anyone but the bishops. You get no benefit at all from picking barons or mayors and then handing them off as vassals to someone else. You only benefit from creating bishops (you get piety).Hmm... Hate to bring this thread up again, but I don't see a newer one about this, so hopefully it won't get lost of the shuffle..
Anyhow, Option #1 works like a charm if you want it too, however, Option #2, I don't seem to have the "barony" option in the grant title window... I'm playing as William of Normady and just conquered England, so naturally got loads and loads of titles to start handing out, and figured I would work out the Baronies first...
So for example, Middlessex (I assume bad spelling.. sorry.. But where London is today, heh) has the Barony of Tottenheim, however, I can't seem to find that title in the "Grant Titles" option (only cities and bishop level ones are there, besides naturally the "count" level of the province itself..) Am I not suppose to give that out and keep it? or am I missing something? maybe it's the 4AM thinking in me that just simply can't find it and I'll look closer at it tomorrow, but figured, I would post about it here in case anyone can answer it before I get up tomorrow, before I go for another marathon session myself, heh. (still gotta kick Norway out of England...)
thanks,
