Been away for a long while, thought I'd try starting with Stellaris - and Ironman (the game says can't get achievements, etc.), but search as I best I can - also in the forums - I do not see something simple about turning Ironman mode on, or off.

So, looking for someone with better eyesight, or just better, than I, to explain something that should be simple - and likely staring at me.

Scroll to the very bottom of the screen after you select your empire (Where you would choose the galaxy size, advanced AI, etc.), and the last option should be for Ironman Mode.

Keep in mind that, if you have any mods that change the game's 'checksum' (As a rule of thumb, any mod that changes anything about gameplay), you can still play Ironman Mode, but you won't get achievements. Whether or not your game is good for achievements will be outlined to you by the big green/red text at the very bottom of that window.

Thx. I'll look AGAIN - but maybe I have just been blind. And, no mods installed - nada - which has me surprised that the Ironman mode was not more apparent.

Ironman should probably now be found at the top, rather than the bottom, of game options (there used to be few enough that scrolling down wasn't necessary), but it is there, and marked (as all Paradox Ironman is now marked) with a closed iron gauntlet.

hover over the error message and it prob says your checksum... if so this is a known issue caused by Paradox themselves and nothing to do with ironman saves
checksum.jpg

the fix is to repair the checksum but that depends on what copy of the game you have installed i.e, Gog is different to Steam

It was, for me, still at the bottom.
