Please do!

Considering how detailed this walkthrough was, it was several weeks until I got to the French invasion, so it is very frustrating to hit a wall at this point. Everything up to the French invasion was more or less fine, however.
I guess I will try this on an easier difficulty...
I just thought of something -- do you mean you are stopped BEFORE you get to Reims? This is possible, since Reims is usually well-defended, and the panzer corps will outrun the infantry through Bastogne and Arlon. If that is the case, have the panzer corps wait in Arlon until the INF catches up.Bittenfeld said:My rapid advance is invariably stopped around Reims
Ironhead 5 said:Hmm, my recommendations are:
1. Have the ARM/MOTs wait in Reims until Rundstedt's infantry catch up, then use the infantry in a Support Attack to break through that next line of defenders.
2. Make sure you have TACs interdicting the areas you are attacking into.
3. If you are still having problems, have Blomberg's forces sweep down through Belgium. It would be a slight change to the battle plan, but you would still get the Vichy event pretty quickly. After Blomberg's forces (which, if I recall correctly, number approx ~70 infantry divisions, right?) show up on France's northern border, they will have to spread their defenses thin, or else leave one of their flanks unguarded.

No, this doesn't affect research at all.Bittenfeld said:If you assign a commander doing research -- such as Udet, Sperrle, Manstein, etc. -- to a unit and have that unit in combat, does that slow the research?
Ironhead 5 said:One thing that I probably didn't emphasize enough is that, when fighting, you must be flexible. The battle plans that I laid out may not work every time, but they can usually present enough opportunities for exploitation elsewhere. If the panzers get held up in Reims, then attack through Belgium. If you get held up in Antwerp, then attack Liege and Ghent. Etc. Attack where the enemy is weakest.

I do the opposite and usually just DOW Belgium and then come back and get The Netherlands and Luxembourg from the east after France is done.Nathan Madien said:Once when I was playing as Germany, I started my invasion by only declaring war on the Netherlands. I used neutral Belgium to trap and crush Dutch forces. Only when I cleared the Netherlands did I declare war on Belgium. Taking out the Netherlands first made attacking Belgium a bit easier.
This AAR isn't over yet, but it may have to be put on hiatus for a short while. My traditional method of uploading screenshots was to save the images to a USB flash drive on my personal computer and then upload via an MWR computer to photobucket... unfortunately, as you may have heard in the news recently, the US Department of Defense has banned USB drives in all computers due to a rampant virus. This ban may be in place for a while, so I will have to either wait for the ban to be lifted or else wait until I can get my hands on some CDs. But I haven't given up on this yet, I will still invade the British Isles before closing the book on this one. It's been a week....aren'y you gonna slip us a little update AAR to keep us off your back for another week?
Why dont you use the USB anyway? There is no way they could find out you were using it.This AAR isn't over yet, but it may have to be put on hiatus for a short while. They have remotely blocked all the USB ports on all computers. Why dont you use the USB anyway? There is no way they could find out you were using it.
It may be a stupid question, but how did they do that? Did you comp download the file from the Internet automatically which blocks it or something similar? They have remotely blocked all the USB ports on all computers.
No, no - my computer is fine, I can use the USB ports all day on it. The problem is that my personal computer doesn't have internet access, so to upload screenshots I have to save them to some form of external media and transfer them to the internet cafe, from whence I can upload them to photobucket. The internet cafe is administered by the Army, so they control those computers. It may be a stupid question, but how did they do that?
