Just gonna share this story about how RNG messed with me. I know it's just me being unlucky (as always). 
So I was in this Provence game where I dominated the Genoa node. Definitely want to have Global Trade to spawn in my territory, I made sure Genoa is the richest node in the world. And then 1600 comes and it didn't spawn.
Very well, let's wait for 1601 then. And then in the year 1601, it spawned in Constantinople. Wait, what? Turns out Ottomans placed some pirates to mess with the trade.......
Being the salty casual gamer, I decided to load the autosave in July, 1600. And then did everything to make sure Genoa is the richest node in January, 1601. And then 1601 comes. Global Trade didn't spawn.......
Now that I'm not only furious but also wondering if I was missing something (maybe it is not going to spawn in me?), so I savescummed once again to check out. Turns out it was definitely just RNG messing with me, and this time, three times later, it finally spawned in my territory.
