I was thinking about this early today. Paradox is very good with historical games but Stellaris is unique because it doesn't follow that pattern.

How do you guys came up with the ideas for the game? Did you had to hire people who have better knowledge about SciFi or the base dev team for the other games was able to do it all by themselves?

Btw: What happened to the "We'll send your name to space" thing?

From what I remember back during the reveal, it was just simply a dream of theirs and it was something they always wanted to do. Some dev also said something to the effect of "Stellaris is an opportunity for us to be as creative as we want and we can finally cast off the chains that history provides".
