I was thinking about this early today. Paradox is very good with historical games but Stellaris is unique because it doesn't follow that pattern.
How do you guys came up with the ideas for the game? Did you had to hire people who have better knowledge about SciFi or the base dev team for the other games was able to do it all by themselves?
