I am 63. Started playing wargames on the old Avalon Hill games. D Day, Stalingrad, moved on to the later ones like Sqd Ldr and Rssn Cmpgn. Long hiatus until I got my first computer. HOI2 for quite a bit..just got HOI3 Looks promising. Retired now, more time.

Panzer Blitz was my first game. Was a longtime subscriber tio SPI. .. I built a table to play WAR IN THE EAST with 6 friends, took almost 3 years to finish! HOI certainly alot easier!

Ha...even the billiards table or ping pong table couldn't hold the maps for War in Europe. I was tempted to use the floor, however, I was afraid the housekeeper would vacuum up the game pieces.

45 yrs. An I miss SI games with the little small cardboard squares, an maps that would cover a billiard table.

50 years old later this year and I miss the little counters too. I can't bear to use the little figures in HOI3, I have to use the counters only. Part of the game is knowing the difference between a division with a X or a O in the middle of the box on the counter.

Did you all get the hugs and kisses reference. Too bad you youngsters are missing some of the greatness put into the making of the HOI3 series. XXOO Paradox

Started playing Grand Strategy games with HoI2 when I was 14. Read a short description in magazine about it and was interested in possibilities. Later got into EU3 as well when it was released.

Bought and played PC game: "Axis & Allies" by Atari many many years ago and from then on been a fan of WW2 related games, ofcourse now I got something much more challenging HOI3

Ah yes, Panzer Blitz, sometimes I miss those days, but finding a player in the rural mountains of Carolina makes the easy of internet and the challenges of not gaming the AI to keep the contest interesting is a not such a bad evolution.

35 now. Started on strategy games with "Battle of the Bulge" on Spectrum, then Panzer General on PC. In fact I am still playing PG (Panzer General Forever) right now expecting FTM.

I am 16. My first Strategy game was Sudden Strike(I think I was 6 then,cant remember very well), I spend most of my time outside with friends,and when I am home I usually sit on HoI forums or AAR's.

I'm a fan of RPG (Baldur's Gate 2 with Tactics mod and Morrowind are my faves), and WW2 war games. The first war game I played was Panzer General, then I got into Talonsofts games like Gettiesburgh and Borodino, but then Eastern Front which was by far my favourite at the time and made me realise I preferred WW2 games. I progressed from there to Operational Art of War and Combat Mission, both of which I still play occassionally.

I found out about HoI2 and Paradox only three years ago and was stunned by it. I haven't done much with HoI3 yet as I have been facinated by Victoria 2 which I am trying to learn how to play properly. With my other genre (RPG) being progressively ruined by consolisation and big money i thank my lucky stars that Paradox anyway looks like supporting my twighlight years gaming needs. It's great to see such a wide range of people of all ages playing HoI3!

I first started playing empires deluxe when I was about 10 years old or so, man I used to have dreams of that game building the biggest fleet and taking on the world. After that I got into civilization, Panzer General series is one of my fav's (Panzer Korps looks interesting). I didnt get started in the HOI series until I stumbled on HOI 2 when HOI 3 was in development. HOI 2 was very good at that point and I spend countless nights stuck in Russia. I keep on trying to get my old man into this game but he says there's to much going on for him.
