I picked a post apocalyptic empire for the habitability bonus...
I ended up encountering TWO bronze age civilizations in the same system about three jumps from me. Apparently this was the result of a species wide nuclear war over colonization rights in space, leaving both planets in a nuclear winter state (tomb world) and essentially fulfilling the whole "nuke us back into the stone age" sort of cold war cautionary tale. The species on the separate planet diverged into 2 distinct species, with close to the same attributes.
More slaves for me.............. Am I a bad person?
Anyways, after this early gain, I ended up out teching everyone by 2300 (slave labour is wonderous, resettlement is CHEAP) and conquered the L-gate.
How likely is this to happen in a normal playthrough, asking for a friend.
