It is Nvidias second slowest most recent generation video card, so I would call it low end. It is more capable than the 9500GT it replaced and will provide a playable experience with almost all current games but that is more a result of video card technology advancing faster than graphics are in pc games.

I would also like to point out that HOI3 (demo) ran perfectly fine on my Phenom II X4... but AMD is coming out with a slight update soon, so you may want to wait if you're doing a budget-build. Also, ATI offers relatively low price graphics cards...

Correct, and as Kallocain pointed out, it has a less demanding power supply need (400 watt IIRC) than more recent video cards, so for players with somewhat older systems, it's a viable option so long as you have the right slots free. And the point about dedicated memory is vital, get as much dedicated memory as you can so graphics do not have to dip into the full system memory.

I think mine cost around US$120 when I got it several months back.

I dunno, most new HD TV's have a VGA connection, mine's about 2yrs or so old and it's got one.

Are you sure this is the problem? I'm using a monitor with a HDMI connection and have no problems with EU3.

Eu3 or HoI3 has nothing to do with HDMI support. That's your computer's fault in that case.

Are you sure this is the problem? I'm using a monitor with a HDMI connection and have no problems with EU3.

Not when A: Everything else is working fine. B: People in the HOI3 tech support have said it has caused problems. and finally C: One of my university lectures who is teaching games programming confirmed that it could be a game caused issue that no amount of driver or other support could fix.

Eu3 or HoI3 has nothing to do with HDMI support. That's your computer's fault in that case.

Which is why I plan on buying an actual monitor when I go home from university in a few weeks time, if I get one now I won't be able to fit everything in the car to go home.
