If you look at achievements and trophies for games, you will see a lot of times as many as 20-50% of all players never got the achievement for finishing the tutorial/doing whatever else you do in the first 5-20mins of starting the game.

There's A LOT of people who buy games and never play them or very very briefly touch them.
I never got those achievements because I never play Ironman mode. Its just too restrictive, and I don't care about achievements. You can't use achievements as a marker here because a lot of people simply don't play Ironman mode.

Not just newbie players, but also those that
a) can't play without mods, and don't care enough to activate Ironman mode if they do play without mods for once
b) fear savegame corruption and know that Ironman mode prevents them from loading up an older save if it happens
c) simply don't care about achievements at all

d) wants to have console ready in the case of some game-braking bug, that can be deal with console command.

A lot of veteran players don't get achievements. I have triple digits in Stellaris and have 0; I have almost 700 hours in CK2 and have a handful.

Yeah, i also have about 160h on this game but only 19 achievements, I played perhaps 2-3 ironman games, out of which maybe only one to the late game point.

Bear in mind however that a lot of newbie players won't be playing in ironman mode, so the achievements are disabled.

Yes, but I wasn't talking about Stellaris specifically, rather any game with achievements, which is basically all of them nowadays.

There's lots of games where you can't help but to get an achievement either for starting a new game or just playing for 10 minutes or so, and lots of people who own the game don't have them.

I get where your coming from, and I agree you can use this as an accurate way of seeing how many people have a game but have never played it. However, this does not work for Stellaris because of the Ironman mode mechanic and the fact that there are no "non-gameplay" achievements, such as switching a background colour for your empire achievement etc. All achievements are related to in-game events, and you can only access those through Ironman mode. Correct me if I am wrong, I have not checked the available achievements form some time.

Yes, but I'm telling you I'm not talking about Stellaris, because most people don't play in modless ironman mode, just using other games where there is no option to avoid the achievements except by just not playing the game as a metric.

Wait so...

People don't shut down VIR right away? Clearly that robot is up to no good. You can clearly see malice lurking behind that glowing eye of his.
