I'm sure there will be one on the 18th, but Paradox usually takes 2 - 3 weeks off over Christmas/New Years

Well, add that to the long list of things I didn't know and was taught on the paradox forums...

Either way, I'd expect this Wednesday (for the World War stream) and this Friday (for the Developer Diary) to be the last we hear from Paradox on HOI4 until after January 1st. Which means, the next time you would see them stream is January 6th, with a developer diary on January 8th. Good news though: if all goes well, I would bet they were only 2 - 3 months away from release at that point.

hehe - clearly cynicism is not your first language : ) In a nutshell, I believe he is lauding the joys of an English Christmas: the uplifting music in the supermarkets... the trees decorated so charmingly in late October and taken down in March... and by 'local chavs intent on beating all known records for light pollution,' he may be referring to innumerable community-minded homeowners, who each bedeck their little castle with thrilling displays of reindeers and snowmen for the pleasure of all, to light up the sky like Krakatoa, and lift our hearts in the cold of winter.

Perhaps it will even include the best Christmas gift of all: an open beta invite. Or perhaps the second best Christmas gift of all: a confirmation that a demo will be released ahead of time. Or perhaps the third best Christmas gift of all: a release date.

Either way, I'd be one happy Paradoxer going into the Christmas break.

The dream: An open beta weekend on steam.
They dont need to make a huge open beta. But atleast an open beta weekend. It would increase the hype and it would calm down all the waiting fans. Just 2 days.
And imagine the bunch of balance discussions they would get. ( and bug reports, exploits etc )
