How many are stopping play until the achivements is fixed?

Just curious, how many people are stopping their game progress so they can get achievements?

I'm fairly sure I'll be able to get at least two of them knocked out on the game I'm playing.

I don't trust the "retroactive claim" when it comes to ironman mode where you can't do savegame snapshots to revert back if the patch doesn't work retroactively.

So, I might start a different galaxy playthrough to go for different achivements that likely won't be possible in this playthrough.

This was the thing that bothered me with previous versions, but since 1.5, the "freezes" caused by autosaving seem to have been "polished".

I am primarily playing to better know the changes in Banks v 1.5

However, I also plan my plays to grab achievements along each playthrough.

Achivements adds some challenges in with the repetitive expand, research, war, and crisises that during certain times feels like doing housecleaning work and not empire building.

Hopefully some good mods show up for Banks alone and some for Utopia to increase the long term fun factor.

haven't played ironman yet, but no won't be stopping playing just cause of the achievement issue's. I will keep playing till they fix the issues if they ever do fix it

It sucks, because I unlocked some this weekend, but I will keep playing. Probably I'm going to unlock them just playing without thinking on them anyway.

Also, it's a good time to try mods (if they are updated ofc), as does not matter now.

Apparently the federation achievement is cursed for me as something always goes wrong when I go for it. Sorry for dragging you in on this time.

But no, I won't stop but I might hold off with finishing some of the end game stuff a few more days (mega structure/the ascension ones etc).

I've stopped playing my Hivemind game because of this. I dont really trust it being "retroactive", so i just put that game on hold. There are so many other things i like to try out as well, so its not a biggie really (started a Fanatic Purifier just for the fun of it).

Playing regardless of Achievement for the sake of finding bugs and providing reports to the bug subforum in order to maximize the number of improvements to the next patch.
Having achievements would be nice, but I can wait with those until the balance has been finalized, too.

Couldn't care less about the achievements, and a quick gander at the steam page would suggest neither does 80% of the player base. Probably much more than that too

Not everyone plays for achievements-- Personally I prefer the journey to achieve the carrot rather than enjoying the carrot itself... tho I do love me some good carrots.

and I play with mods enabled 24/7 so, with over 1200 hours in the game, I still have 0 achievements

You have to play the games in Ironman mode to get the achievements.

I suggest doing a large to huge galaxy with no advanced ai empires. This gives you the best chance in acquiring large enough fleets to survive multiple defensive wars and galactic crisises.

For your first Ironman play through, you may want have no fallen empires or just one.
