This is a question that I haven't seen anyone touch yet- how long will it take for Hearts of Iron IV to load? Will it be quick like For the Motherland, or slow and torturous like Their Finest Hour?

IMO, loading times wont be a problem on SSD, but people with HDD will have to be patient...

But CK2 and EU4 have hugely differing loading times. Or is that just my computer? :S

I was just wrong about how many shakes nuclear explosion takes.
We have actually seen the game boot once in an earlier stream, I do not beleive it's on the video. But it was so quick that we talked about how quick it was.
The devs responded by saying something like "Yea we let the program use multiple threads while loading to make it as fast as possible".

I am sure that modders can increase the loading time by 10
That reminds me Kerbal Space Program - after adding all the usefull mods, game is loading for much longer time.
Are you sure that's not caused by the fact that you use SSDs now?
At least with non-SSD I expect practically no difference as even one single core can work with the data much faster than the hard disk can actually provide.
EU4 loading is fine. I mean, it takes ages, but it gives me the time to prepare tea or beer.
I just hope it won't be as needlessly demanding as CK2 launcher, but rather smooth as EU4 one.
With CK2 the computers starts lagging when I am on the starting screen in windowed mode and alt+tab to web browser

Hoi3, even without mods, takes 5min to load on my SSD.
Really, on my Desktop it takes between 43 an 58 seconds and on the laptop the longest it has ever taken is 1 min, both have an i5 and SSD.
Quick I'd imagine, Ck2's load up speed increase was very significant after being multi threaded .
