How long do Vassals opinions last?

To try and put it simple.
I have noticed that when I do certian actions it will change my vassals option of me: ie, Release a prisoner, Exectute someone, Assasinate, Banished prisoner. I have also noticed that after a while some of these "feeling" leave my vassals.
An example, I release a prison and noticed that my brother had +10 relation with me because I was "compassionate" (or something of the sort). Then after some years had past I was looking at his opinion of me again and see that this particular feeling was gone.

All that being said, is there time limits on certian opinion?

It would seem there are. Common/opinion_modifier.txt is a list of opinions. Many of them have a timer of X number of months.

Playing as Doux Michael of Adrianople I raised all the levies for my father's campaign against the Seljuk Turks

Spend about 18 months besieging Kurdistan (+ nearly 6 getting there) for a total -14 from my vassal's opinion of me

Nearly two years later I began a campaign to take Galaz, and noticed that the modifier was still at -8

so it's taking roughly twice as long to assuage their frustration as it does to cause it, a bit odd no?

I think that is good. Especially since it seems like waging war is economically WAY less taxing than it was in CK1, and in my opinion it does need some limits, and vassal opinion is a good limit for it.

It make sense though. Raising levies is a big strain on the economy and therefor development of vassals. They probably hold a grudge long.

But yes, from a gameplay standpoint: With all my levies raised I've been in the + gold with pretty much every character I've played, whereas in CK1, it would send me into bankruptcy within months. Making the opinion hit lower would make this easy game so much easier.

Yeah I have noticed that I can raise all my levies and those of my vassals and still afford (fairly cheap) mercenairies without breaking the bank on the five start provinces of Michael of Adrianople or even the three of King Bowlsole II

I can see the reasoning behind it

off topic: can allies armies be directed in any way? I'm currently staring at an army nearly equal to my own in Galaz and my allies are making moves towards Birlan, but neither of us can beat the pagans on our own and he shows no inclination to join with me for an attack. I can see reasons for this behviour, but having no way to coordinate is irksome
