Yup Muscowy got wrecked by Novgobear and the Hordes on my game too but Ming AI didn't do really much though. Is it really much more fun without the mandate of heaven?
ming still has mandate of heaven (pos/neg stability mechanic). it lost the inward perfection modifier (tons of nerfs) with the exception of the landforce limits 33% nerf, which is still there.

ming lost a some of the buffs from the faction system though but the buffs were not that great to begin with anyway so overall ming was buffed.

and yes, it is a lot more fun not being gimped by inward perfection as ming.

So far it have actuelly been a very funny and different experience.

I wanted to try as many of the new features as much as possible so Iused the custom nation designer to make a 3 province country in northen germany with - 20% development. When The game started I then used a consol command to become a constitutional monarchy. Going for economics as my first idea group I got a - 40% development cost, which meant that the first few developments in costal regions costed almost no MP.

So I have mainly been using the parlament laws to upgrade my provinces and save MP, so I could develop my regions. I honestly like the system. It have been rather fun deciding which regions should get representation and whats not. Though I think it would have been cool that to get a region in parlament to support a reform you didn't just pay X MP, army tradition or whatsnot, but sometimes you also had to do something that improved that region. Like buying a development or constructing a building. That way regions that was in parlament would always grow stronger and wealthier than your other regions, but I see how that is a problem because development is only for those who have the dlc.

I have played for about 150 years now and I control all the territory in the Lübeck trade node, that is not part of Sweden or Norway. All regions are the same religion as I am, same cultur and rather well developed. So in size I guess I am a medium sized power, but because of all the development and strategical building I am actuelly one of the top powers in Europe with a force limit of 84 and 100.0000 in manpower.

Oh yes the inward perfection i tend to mix up those two considering i never played Ming. I'll give it a try then!

How do you guys post screenshots? That is so awesome.

You need to use an external website. I use TInyPic because it is free and because it gives you the IMG code to post right into the forum text box.

Upload your screenshot to the site and post the link in this window, then hit Preview. It will show up in the Preview as the picture.

Hungary. SLOWWWW. I am 100 years in and I really tried to love it, but I just can't. I'm uninstalling -- not from rage, but because otherwise I just am too tempted to keep trying -- and I'll be back in a week or two to see what's patched.

I don't mind the coring costs, actually. What bugs me is that there are so few other things to do, which IMHO is the underlying problem that coring costs exposes. I need new CBs and new peace conditions. I need more ways to get Power Projection. I need to be able to force trade deals on losers without using a diplomacy slot and costing me MP. Really, I need new ways to influence he world besides painting it my color.

Development is a cool idea, but it is low "fun". The MP drought of a bad king now feels even worse. I'm so tired of crappy monarchs. I think the base MP should be raised to 5 each type, and the monarch be in the range of Enrique to 4/4/4. There is no fun in a long-lived shitty king when MP are so crucial not just to WINNING but to even having SOMETHING TO DO.

The more the game becomes a grind, the less fun random bad events feel. The more swashbuckling the game, the easier it is to shake those events off. I dont mind a deliverate paced game but the combo right now is frustrating and not fun.

My first proper game is a Bohemia run, royal marriage with Poland to give me a polish king and then claimed his throne since he had a weak strength heir. I then declared war and got them as a pu in 1460. i also survived getting 36 ae with every single hre member so its looking good :D

Playing Musvoy and it has been the hardest vanilla game since my Morocoo playthrough long time ago. Those forts are very challening in terms of warfare, and fighting sweden and lithuania(without even poland!!) is the hell on earth. It's mid 17th century now and I think I barely have historical borders, eventhough I tried hard.

Much better: The elevation of key fortresses to a pivotal role in land warfare feels more like the period than before, though tooltip and indicator explanations (text strings) could be improved. The occupation and looting system appears much improved at first experience. I also like the more flexible peace mechanics a great deal..

The building system looks good, but could use at least some tooltips to explain what we are and should be looking for. Likewise the new churches and parliament - interesting and promising but not obvious what is optimal.

That the game was fine before the patch but became sluggish in graphics, scrolling and clciking is a negative, but I expect that to be fixed. I hope it is just an issue with something in the new settings.

I would like the ability to TOGGLE OFF routine arrival pop-ups for trade fleets and anything else running a circuit. I do want to know when units arrive at the destinations I order. Much too large a proportion of the popups are are from trade fleets. Combined with sluggish UI, it can get annoying.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am new to Eu4 so have only played 5 games to completion, all randomly selected: Ahutthaya, Comanche, Shoshone (yes the game randomed to two adjacent NA tribes in a row), Muscovy and Jolof.

Ahutthaya i had a big problem late game with Spain invading, but i eventually (after 75 years of war) won. Muscovy i had Ottomans carpet sieging me but in true Russian fashion i retreated deeper into Siberia until i could pick them off and turned it around. The other three were cakewalks.

Now with the new patch i played Crimea and was constantly crushed by Lithuania...by games end i was basically QQ since thats the only direction i could expand in between losing wars. Not to mention ottomans and yemen jumping me once and persia constantly.

Now i made a random world and ended up with 6 rivals followed by chain wardecs thanks to no allies and my first time being vassalized ever. All by 1550.

Manpower is so so scarce for me and if you lose a war its crippling since they can take provinces they haven't sieged, especially early on when you cant afford new forts. I probably just need to get better and get used to the patch, but it certainly feels more difficult.

I am having quite the fun game with a Holland/Netherlands campaign. I have to say it is far easier to contain myself. Staying at a rational size feels far less like you're gimping yourself, if you have a decent trade empire of course.
Before I've always felt like I have to expand even further in Europe, now I dumping monarch points into developement takes that drive. True it may be that just outright blobbing is still be more costeffective, but atleast you don't just sit at mp limit, if you don't expand in Europe.
Now I can sit at a nice size in Europe. Expand my Colonial Empire, swim in gold and still find a somewhat challenging war on the continent, since I don't outright outgun my enemy.

Bohemia is Emperor. Scotland fucking up England and Poland is smaller than their March.

Also even though France is allied with Scotland and Spain, and earlier with me and Austria (Bohemia was Emperor since 1478) instead of Spain, they never dared to conquer into the HRE. The Czech-Prussian alliance is just too strong.
