Started as Ming for the first time. It's going ok I guess. Conquered all of Dai Viet but have done little else as shortly after I got smacked around by about 5 or so years of 'Mandate of Heaven Lost'. Just now starting to recover from that. Not sure were I'll go from here. Thought about maybe colonizing the South Pacific.
My first game as Portugal saw France dropkicking England, then Burgundy, then Aragon, and finally eating all of Savoy and Genoa. Then they rivaled me and I decided, maybe I should try playing somewhere else. My next game was as Milan, where I left the HRE and ate through all of Italy, becoming a major power in the process by virtue of insane Italian development. Fun times so far.

playing england, took exploration and economy, now i regret taking eco, because i think expansion would be better because of all the colonist. also i sold all continental holdings to get the end of hundred years war event
Randomed to Crimea (i have only 1.12 with no upgrade). Got wardecced by Genoa and won; took all three of their provinces in Crimea. However, now getting my ass kicked by mega-Lithuania that escaped Poland PU and has now eaten Muscovy, Golden Horde, Astrakan as well as most of my Crimean provinces while allied to a super-quick Scandinavia under Sweden i believe since Denmark still exists in Iceland.
I have reformed but haven't been able to westernize because Genoa has ceased to exist and so i cannot get far enough behind them. I have moved south and im basically Georgia now with a big QQ vassal that i grabbed during internal conflicts.
Ottomans, Persia and Lithuania surround me and hate my guts now so i figure my days are numbered.

Mine's going great. I'm taking advantage of the post-patch imbalances to play as Byzantium. Kicked Ottomans out of Greece entirely, they are now confined to Turkey. About to diplo-annex Bulgaria, vassalized and took Ragusa, took Zeta and Kosovo from Serbia (yay gold mine).
On the second war to kick Ottos out of Greece (they started it) I broke myself to win. Got about 4000 ducats in loans. Almost paid them back but had to disband my entire army to get the cash to keep up with repayments.
Venice just tried to take advantage of this by declaring war for Ragusa, but I managed to fight them to a stalemate without taking any more loans and eventually they agreed to peace if I pay a mere 80 ducats. Great so far!

Hungary. Wrecked Austria very early, grabbing Wien for the eventual westernization. I'm not really sure if I'm going to continue this game, though. France's dynasty ended up on mine very early and I'm now the overlord in a union with them. Yay? There's nothing really left to do as a result.

I started a game with England. The game stutters so bad that I stopped playing for now.
I'm playing England, and I've finished taking Ireland, Scotland is a vassal, and I've taken all of Norway's islands, so I will hopefully be colonizing Canada soon, once I unlock explorers and conquistadors. I've also taken Armagnac from France and made them revoke cores on my other 4 French provinces (France doesn't have a core on Calais anymore?)
Here is my current Teuton campaign just finished off the last of the commonwealth good times.
I began a game with France.
I decided to declare war to England immediately. Portugal joined them later, and after Austria. I thought I would be raped but I managed to kill surprisingly lots of isolated packs, they didn't do a big pack, and Burgundy also declared war against them later so they let me alone. I took all the provinces of England on the continent except Calais.
I waited a bit, declared war against Provence which was allied to England. Piece of cake, I took Anjou and Maine.
I was thinking to increase my money and one-two years passed, when suddenly I became the king of Provence thanks to my grace and beauty :S. Someone knows about it ? First time I see it. It gave me Barrois, Provence and Draguignan. Without fighting or doing anything. Pretty nice.
So everything is going well. I still have doubt about this war system being better or not. I have the feeling it advantages a lot the human player. I am in 1458, and I have already a big part of France. We will see.

Started well: Venice, take Ragusa, take Albania, give a hand to Austria, repel Milan... then Ferrara attacks me. With all my allies on their side... (Papal states, Austria and Hungary). No coalition or anything, they just decided that Istria was worth the -88 in relation it gave them. Ended not so well

They were badly outnumbered. My army won the first AND second battle so I split off half the regiments to walk back to Ceuta while the fresh troops were on siege. I decided to look at the changes in the game, find forts, and admire the new map. It turns out I forgot to pause...
The enemy attacked my reinforcing units. They sent their whole army into my mountain province while I was exploring the changes to the interface screens. Later when I noticed they were attacking my reinforcing army, it was too late, they were starting to break. My general was with the siege troops. Looks like the army was flanked the whole battle. I still had most of my mercenary units back in Portugal sitting where they were built. I broke siege, but it took too long for my fresh troops to return home. My army was defeated and scattered around Ceuta.
I quit to wash the dishes and get ready for bed.

Just a bunch of restarts so far trying out some of the features. Although, I'm going to have to find someone else to keep testing with, killing Iberians is starting to get old! (I know, blasphemy, right?)
Playing Ottomans. Gobbling up your usual early targets has been buffed significantly, because you can now take their gold on annex. This way, by 1450, I think I've gained about 600-800 ducats I wouldn't have in the last patch.
The new fort system takes some getting used to. I thought ZoC would buff smaller nations somewhat, but in fact I now get the impression that small nations with more than 1 province are severely gimped. For example, 5 province Serbia will pretty much instantly lose all provinces but their capital. And their zone of control doesn't hinder my invading Ottoman forces at all.
Admin points seem very very limited now, not sure how I feel about that yet. I like the new buildings, but miss the old unique ones.

Just finished Ceylon achievement run. Geopolitics: France, GB and Otto are weak comparable to 1.11, PLC is strong, Russia is gone, HRE has zero reforms, Spain is OK.
During the playthrough I realized that new building system is pretty strange. You don't need to have level 1 building to build level 2. With average money return of 80 years for basic building whats the point to build them if I can wait 50 years to unlock new level buildings and build them at once? Basic buildings can be profitable in high developed (European) provinces, but not everythere.

I'm in the Mac camp as well so I can't play - looks like it might be worth it to wait for the hot fixes regardless.
