Does anyone know how the rules of the game define what is an "isolated province"?

Has anyone from paradox made a statement on when the modifier should be applied?

Need to know if i have a bug or a feature....

Has anyone from paradox made a statement on when the modifier should be applied?

Need to know if i have a bug or a feature....

This happens when there is a territory that is not connected by land or sea with the rest of your territories.

Yes, it is too far. I believe that in the maritime case there can only be two different maritime zones between their territories.

I have yet to fully understand all the variables involved, but generally speaking, so long as you are close enough to the capital, the last group of conquered provinces will show with the -0.25 loyalty malus until you conquer another group (at which the -0.25 malus will be removed from the former and added to the later).

Is it possible to see the range in the interface somehow?
I believe in the modifiers. Let me check when I'm home.

I had read on an older thread that it is also applied if the province is the single one in the region, not sure about it though.
Only if it is not connected, I don't think at least anymore that this would be a thing.

Just searching for some info on this and FYI I am getting the isolated province (-.25 loyalty) modifier for Sicania (western Sicily) when my capital is in Syracuse (eastern Sicily).

Interestingly I am also getting it for Sardinia, which I though 'okay', but checking a save from a previous game (same 2.0 patch, same capital, about same duration since conquering) I am not getting the penalty in that save.

May start another thread somewhere on this if I cannot find a solution.

UPDATE:
I ran threw a few techs to expand my diplomatic and control range by 20 and 15% respectively: no change.

Thanks! I tried this in debug_mode with 'conquer' province ID and the malus did indeed go away, nor was it applied to my new province (perhaps because it was just so clearly connected to my home?)

Will test it in actual game play soon as I can.

Np. It's a strange set of variables that I have as yet to clearly define. If I had to guess as to why the new territory didn't receive the -0.25 malus, it would be that you annexed it with -debug_mode.

Shake head in confusion.

The latest "theory" is that always the most recently conquered territories are plagued by it. While that easily could be true, I don't think it is intended - the wording clearly sounds like something which should hit an exclave.

Why is there no answer to this yet. Like I really love where the game is headed but this and other kinda big bugs hurt the experience of the game. We should be able to as players know what and why we get any and all modifiers and be able to understand them by finding out things either from the wiki, Reddit, etc. I really hope this issue is fixed with some of the other big bugs soon and we get more answers from the devs.

When I get a territory not in the capital region I got it.(Even when the territory have land connection to the capital) Getting more territory in the same province doesn't help. When I got a territory in adjacent province the modifier was gone. Those territories does not have to be connected.

At least that was what happened when I was playing a migratory tribe.
