I've looked at various threads related to land combat, and the DD about it, but I have not found any information about how losses in equipment and manpower are calculated. I know in HoI 2 & 3 the hard/soft attack vs defensiveness/toughness mechanic, with the various RNG "rolls" was used when determining if a unit took damage and how much. I know we still have all those statistics for HoI 4, but how do they work now that we have manpower and equipment. If a unit score a "hit" with it's soft attack how much damage is inflicted on the target; how many causalities; how much in equipment losses?

Also, since we have various types of combat units in a division, who takes the losses. As an example you have an infantry division with mostly infantry, but a few artillery, some support units, and maybe a light tank thrown in. This division suffers a "hit" from a soft attack fired from an opposing infantry division. Is the damage, spread across the entire division, randomly applied to one of the component units or is it weighted to hit a front-line unit, like an infantry or tank.

I know the game is still being balanced, but I'm wondering if someone knows specifics on how damage is allocated and if there is a direct ratio between soft/hard attack and the amount of causalities and equipment damage a division takes. (like, one soft attack point equals 10 manpower lost or something like this)

I can only speculate but Units have a certain HP (hitpoint - formerly known as strength ) value which probably means that 1 hit equals to a %-age of losses.

According to wiki a Supportbat. has 5, Combatbat Inf 10, ArmorBatt. 20 HP.
So one hit could equal 20% / 10% and 5% of manpower and/or Equipment ( or fractions thereof).

About the distribution: no idea and as I said I speculate...
