We could sell them all together but then they'd correspondingly cost more, so you're really just asking to not have a choice on whether to also get the music and unit packs.

I don't think it is greedy at all, I get El Dorado, but I care little for unit packs, and I always listen to an audio book when I play, so why should I pay for music?

It is actually the opposite of greedy in my opinion, I don't have to pay for music, which is something I have no use for in the game, therefore I save money because Paradox doesn't shove it down my throat by including it in the main pack and upping the cost

In fact I have seen them sold as a pack (together) for 20 Euro (instead of 15 Euro for El Dorado alone)

Pretty sure one of the decisions was to not include graphical stuff in "bigger" expansions, as not to raise the price of it. Not everyone cares about graphical flavour, and therefore wouldn't want £5 worth of the DLC if it was merged, and thus, complain.

And yes, P-dox could just include it for free, but it's not like it takes them 5minutes to throw together the graphics and music. They deserve to be paid for their work.

Would you rather the Expansion be £21 (roughly price of El Dorado and the content pack. And tbh, if they merged them, they could charge more overall and no-one would know) or would you rather it be £15, and the optional stuff £6?

This just works, m'kay. If anything, I'm salty they dont have the Unit pack and Music Pack separate anymore, but hey.

This practice does also make it a lot easier for paradox to decide if they should hire a musician and a art designer for this kind of things, or only stick to the 2-3 developers that make the patches and expansions.

It doesn't really work that way, the price of the dlc is already high (20 euros for Art of war, half the price of a full brand new game for an expansion...). It's not related to cost of production, it's their price policy and marketing. I think it is overpriced, a good price for me for El dorado would be 10 euros with content pack included. So I wait for sale.

They are a company, they need to make money, I hope they make a lot of money and thrive and thus can make even more (and better) games. Calling them greedy also implies you know that they are currently turning a HUGE profit. Are they? I don't know, do you?

If you are buying all the stuff you would want it stacked together cause that way it gets cheaper.
On the other hand if you care only some of the stuff, you would want it seperated casue you can buy only those that you care and pay less.
For example I paid 10 bucks for the latest DLC but I wasnt even interested in Nation Desiner or tribes. So if it was seperated I would have probably paid 5 for colonization/naval stuff.

So I hope Pdox keeps expansions concantreted on related things for each release so we wont have to buy useless things. Or just seperate each release based on relativity.

So I actually examined the financial figures of the company. The average profit margin during 2010-2013 was 12,6 % which is healthy but hardly a sign of greed.

This is a perfectly valid tactic! You can be 100% guaranteed that all content will be available for a lower price later on. You will almost certainly be able to get it for 50% if you're willing to wait 6 months and get it on sale. Paradox are actually much better about this than most companies, where you'd usually have to wait around 12 months for the discount to hit the 50% mark. Additionally, whenever a new expansion drops there's almost always a sale for the older content, so you don't have to wait for the Summer/Winter sales. If you're willing to wait even more, you can get things for a 75% discount.

This is actually one of the things I love about PC game pricing. I can either get it for full price now, or for a significant discount later. For Paradox games, I usually buy the gameplay content for the games I'm currently playing at release, and catch up on other content (expansions for games I haven't been playing recently but plan on getting back to, graphical/musical content I think I'll enjoy, etc) at the bi-yearly sale.

Actually Paradox games are the only games I'm willing to spend the full money shortly after or at the day of release, because I'm a dumb fanboy and want them to eat my money. For every other game I might want to have I will always wait until sales, because hell, Paradox ate it all.

Pretty much this. You know when the sales will come, based on how actively you play the game you can buy it immediatly or wait for a sale. It's an awesome way to use revenue management. You can basically pay a higher price now or pay a lower price later, based on how much you value it. Same goes for content packs and graphic packs etc. You can buy the content packs now and wait for the graphic packs to go on sale, and all sorts of combinations. I love it. You also know old content will be on sale when new content is released. You basically know their pattern and when you could buy what based on when you want it.

Maybe Paradox could embrace this pattern and create a place where people can see when the sales will be, this will allow the same kind of thinking for people who want to step into the games but are not as invested into their games as we are yet.

We could sell them all together but then they'd correspondingly cost more, so you're really just asking to not have a choice on whether to also get the music and unit packs.

Yet you put nation designer in, despite many people not caring about it.

Nation Designer affects gameplay. Graphics do not. I don't get the last statement.

Personally I'm fine with separate graphic packs. I don't care about them and only buy them when they get 75% off or something. So cheaper gameplay mechanics for me, please!
