If you offer them a chance to get out, they'll stab you in the back. It's best just to mow them down while they're easily clustered in one spot.
Well, out of the basket, into the work-fields. They can labor in the fields or mines for a century or so to learn humility and good graces before properly integrating into a united society of men, orcs, dwarfs goblins, kobold, etcetera. After all, they're always boasting about their superior lifespan. A century is nothing to an elf. He can wait.
Nope, can't enslave them either. They're too weak and fragile for labor. Not to mention, if you let an elf live, they'll always plot against you and betray you or your children. As you say, a century is nothing, they can wait to unleash their heinous plots.
Sure, when you look at nice and logically that works; the problem is that it will take a while for some people to accept these facts, and so you need to show them the broken-downs husks of a once arrogant race to show them what an elf without their savage arrogant really is. And them you can use them for dog food and landscaping fill.
'Norse' Elves are stronger, brighter and all-round more powerful and capable than people. So certainly not 'too weak'.
The big problem is, they have no backs. Which while it's brilliant in a ghost-story esque fairy tale in evoking great horror at the shadows in the forest, would look dumb in a computer game.

In Runemaster the Light- and Darkelfs have backs, it is the Huldra that does not have a back, or a hollowed-out one.
Do the Huldra also have cute little cows tails?
As it's always puzzled me that something can both have no back and have a little tail.
And will the player have the option to be woo'ed by one and then be whisked away into a life of slavery and a game over screen?

Well that's creepy. That leads me to my next question: can we kill all huldra?
Maybe when the game comes out we should have a contest to see who can kill the most elves the quickest.
Paradox: I'd really like it if you could include stats which list how many of each race are killed by your unit. For that matter, a unit history would be pretty cool for parts of your army, so we can see what each has killed (even just a numerical amount would be nice).

That sounds kind of mean, and possibly racist.
What if Huldra or other Trolls and Elves are reading this forum? How did you think they'll feel seeing you wrote that...
I feel that this thread is full of racists who use elves as a tool to spread their hate.

See that right there would be a perfect mechanic. I'd love to see that sort of thing. I'd also settle for being allowed to collect elf ears or something.
