At first I thought you were talking about starting 1 jan 36 and play until 1oct in a few minutes :p

The game seems really slow. I'm at 1 nov 37 and been playing for around 3h maybe more. In war time that would be nothing, but in peace it should be must faster. It gives me time to read books while playing at least =P

My pc is 2 weeks old so i don't need to reinstall windows =]

I absolutely don't agree with you. It can be little difference on what HDD or motherboard we are using but 2.2min vs 1.2 min? It's impossible. Either you counted something wrong or this game hates ATI cards. How can cooler affect the perfomance if the components are cool enough?

well what hard drive do you have, only thing fast then my raid is intels $500 ssd. mobo make a big difference when it comes to overclock things and work with things to make your hardware work better. ati cards are great for some apps and smae gos with nivida, you also have to remember behide all the hardware theres drives and extra code on the hardware itself firmware. the cooler the biggest performance increase of all i have a water cooler on my cpu and dual fan coolers on my vd. my cpu never gets about 38c and vd about 50c to 55c depends on the vd. the cooler the fast it will run.

I have about the same configuration as you, but only a bit less on the CPU and RAM, while a bit more in favour of the GPU and I also have about 14-15 sec a day even with the patch. To be honest I do not notice any real performance difference between v1.0 and v1.1, it's still slow.

It does however seem to be more important to have a fast processor than just multiple cores. I think that a 3,0 Ghz CPU duo Core 2 will outperform a 2,66 Ghz Quad Core CPU, eventhough the Quad Core is more powerful. Its like a comparing a racecar with a monstertruck, both are powerful, but the monstertruck has a lot more power, while the racecar accelerates faster.

theres a thread up for this already

I haven't seen it luckly it's there then I have a big problem, according to what I read here.

It took approximately 2-3 seconds per hour, and takes nearly 1 minute for each day.. so probably hours for 3 months

anybody have any recommendation. I tried using 2 gb usb stick with readyboost to get a better performance with 2 gb ram, 2.1 ghz amd turion x2 with ati x1200 gpu but nothing changed.

your useing a laptop cpu big performace decrease, ready boost wont help much with that either. try turning everything off in task manager. the vd also is a tad old.

I have WD HDD 7200rpm. It's random HDD, but why should it influence on this game so much? I got Asus Deluxe V2 motherboard which is pretty good.

Yes it can be that this game like nVidia more, but such a big difference..? Hard to believe..

right there the hd big difference from mine if you have a old re2 wd hd your only get 60-70mb/s a newer re3 70-80mb/s. with both my raptors i get 210mb/s plus a bonus to my i/ops. it could be nivida drivers are better i seen some one post a q66 with nivida card for almost the same time as you.

I closed everything even I uninstalled my internet security which made my pc really slow. But there was only an improvement in start up and loading of the game. So want might be wrong? Will there be a significant performance improvement if I add 2 gb more ram to my laptop(total 4 gb) or is it related with cpu or gpu? Because when I played HOI2 first time with my old laptop with c2d 1.83 ghz with 1 gb ram it was like this the game was too slow but after I bought my currentlaptop with 2gb ram it was really fast.

I'm guessing that the multiple cores are not fully utilized. My guess would be that using an overclocked dual core (think 4ghz) will do you more good than a 2.6ghz quad core.

I agree that your HDD is better, but it can't have such influence on this game.

Games do not depend on HDD that much..

Yes, I'm just looking into upgrade options and it appears my P5B Deluxe motherboard is actually compatible with all new CPU's. I'm tempted to buy the Core 2 Duo E8400, which runs at 3Ghz instead of 2.13Ghz. But I'm not sure how much that'll actually help! I'd rather not spend 100-150 euro if the performance gain is not substantial.

who knows heres a guy posted before you

2 minutes and 15 seconds

Windows 7 64bit
Q6600 @3Ghz
HD4870 512MB
8GB RAM
SSD OCZ Vertex

5 secs faster and a 30% slower cpu i see he has a ssd about 160 to 170mb/s drive. he also has a slower vd.

2 min 15 sec

vista 64
e8400 @ 3.6ghz
8800gt
4gb ram

dual core overclocked like crazy and a way slower vd then us and got a good time

2 minutes 2 seconds

Intel Core i7 920 (3.6 ghz)
Geforce GTX 280
6 gb DDR3 high speed corsair ram

same cpu overclocked about the same gpu as me not much diff dont know what drive so cant tell much.

i may have counted wrong so i will retest.

CPU and GPU will most likely be the bottle neck, with my money being on the CPU. And those are hard to replace in a laptop :(

The HD is only important for the initial loading and perhaps the use of a swap file, which frankly with a decent size RAM won't happen too often.

When it comes down to RAM : When the needed amount of data can be placed in the RAM, there is no use in increasing the amount you have. Increasing the speed of your RAM will help, but requires an entire batch of new RAM sticks.

Yeah it's impossible to say what hardware is wrong since everyone got different results here even with near same systems :)
