How does the whole Army Rank thing work on the Forums?

I know I definitely have the lowest rank, Recruit, I was wondering what criteria got people titles like Field Marshal. Is it game based or forum based? I assume the highest sounding names are for admins, staff and mods but what are the ranks and what do the specificity? Thank you in advance for replies.

The "Ranks" are down to number of posts, and custom titles available after 3000 posts or two years membership (whichever comes first).

Nope, Moderators, Admins, and Staff have special coloured badges stating what they are and most tend to have a custom title. Paradox Developers and Paradox Staff will have a special background on their posts (black with platypus logo).
