I was leading the Protestant League as Prussia. The only Protestant elector was Saxony, which was my vassal. All of the other electors were Catholic or Reformed.
I assumed that once I won, all of the other electors would be kicked out of the vote and only Saxony would remain. Meaning I would be elected emperor.
But strangely enough, while all of the other electors were indeed kicked out, Savoy (who was in the Catholic League until I separated peaced it, then recently converted to Protestant) was chosen as emperor instead. Yet the imperial window shows that there was only one elector Saxony, who favored me by over 200 points.
So what happened exactly?
In case it is relevant, I separate-peaced all of the nations in the Catholic side, including other electors, before finally peacing out Austria (the current emperor). I did not convert any other electors to Protestantism, because I expected that they would have no vote if they remained heretics.
