So every province has a resource that it produces. For example in the Austria demo start Tirol produces gold. It says on the province window that production equals 40+ ducats... but I am not getting anything close to that from production.

What is the value in controlling different resources?

Could someone explain production in depth for me? :)

The production value shown in the province screen is yearly, not monthly. As such Tirol stands for some 3,3 gold every month.

Edit: Or 3.6 considering that gold gets its very own category in the economy screen and thus is quite visible.
