How does Paradox decides which countries are added to the game?

There is the Kingdom of Tondo, for example: A polytheistic melting pot of a Kingdom that lasted from the 900s until 1589 and was a somewhat influential trading empire. They had relations with Ming and eventually embraced Islam around 1500 and tied themselves to Brunei. There is actually a mod out there that has quite a lot of interesting suggestions for this region, you can find it on the forums.

I know not a lot of people play in that area so it is probably low priority, but it is a very fascinating start region for me and it always felt like it needed some more flavour - especially when the Europeans arrive.

Above and beyond how nice it would be to have Tondo in the game (and it certainly would be a nice addition), it's in the Philippines, not Indonesia, which is likely causing some of Wiz's confusion.

What exactly would need doing in Indonesia?

Well one thing that always bothered me in this region is that, unlike Funj and Sulu, some of the tags located in uncolonized lands (ex. Banjar and Maguindanao) don't have an event to spawn. So those tags are sadly pretty much useless and never seen.

Serbia needs more provinces. About 20 and it will be almost perfect. And maybe a few more in Croatia, just so that conquest borders when i expand as Serbia could be prettier.

Looks like they broke the Perm border with Novgorod. No more can Muscovy feed the same culture provinces to Perm. I am saddened. But good map reworks are always nice.

As a fun little anecdote, let me tell you how the Art of War map expansion came about.

As we were wrapping up Res Publica, Johan stepped out from his office, walked over to the EU4 team (which I wasn't a part of at the time but was sitting with) and said, "I want 1000 new provinces outside Europe in 1.8".

I said "That's crazy talk."

He said "Do it anyway."

And then we did (with a lot of help from our betas and map modders).

That sounds like a part of the creation myth. Haha, praise be to Johan.

Its "Odoyev" probably it is aimed to be relased in 1.16 as a tag. Historically existed between 1425-1503
