Rumor has it that it's a flip-a-coin approach. Heads means the country gets added to the game; tails means it doesn't. How come you did not know that?

I presume, given the Indonesia mods out there, that Krebsig wants more Indonesian countries in currently uncolonised provinces.

Japan, though... really needs work... seeing as it's officially the only region which has not had a province overhaul since 1.0 (the rest of ROTW got 1.8, and Europe had its chance in 1.12)

You bring up a good point with Japan, though. Iirc there are a few unused Daimyo tags and the entire Shogunate/Daimyo mechanic in general was always a discussion issue. I did not noticed they never added a single province there, maybe it is indeed overdue.

Other people may have replied already, but

1 - Aceh as a starting tag in 1444
2 - Some empty provinces should have tags there such as (iirc) Palembang;
3 - Ternate and Tidore should be Sunni, not Animist
4 - Philippines needs tags
5 - Possibly events related to the spread of Islam in the region.

In terms of the map, nothing at all. 1.8's new provinces were fantastic and clearly very well researched. We just need more nations in them.

But since we're talking about map changes to Indonesia, how about making the surrounding ocean an inland sea? Naval combat in the region was all about war galleys. Iskandar Muda, Sultan of Aceh and one of the most important figures in the region, relied on his large fleet of war galleys during his conquests of Sumatra and the Malay Peninsular. Besides being historical, it also makes the naval game in the region "better" in that naval dominance isn't determined entirely by who can afford to have a heavy ship. It also gives the natives some ability to fight back against European conquest (though probably not much). Brunei managed to hold their own surprisingly well in a naval conflict against Spain during the period.

You already have the mechanic in game. Once Brandenburg becomes Protestant or Reformed it get`s a decision to accept the other denomination but it shouldn`t get any extra bonuses or be able to change it like the syncretic mechanic we have.

I mean seriously, there is an american state called "NEW JERSEY". Guess what that is all about?

They don't just name parts of america, or use it's system of 2 elected officials and a (chief minister here, but president in america) after it because it's of no importance.

Ummm, sorry to spoil things for you but the U.S.A. state of New Jersey was not named because Jersey was important. It was named because Sir George Carteret, one of the two founders of the colony that became the state, came from the island and was Lieutenant Governor of it at one point. He only got the charter for the colony with John Berkeley due to his support of Charles II during the English Civil War. Basically, they named the colony after Jersey for the reason that it was Carteret's homeland. As for the state's name, the Thirteen Colonies basically kept or shortened their names when they became states. Further divisions of the new states (such as Tennessee from North Connecticut) used different names but New Jersey never had such a split. Basically, what I'm saying is that attributing Jersey's importance even partially to it being the origin of a U.S. state is not necessarily correct. If it was, then the same argument could be extended to Hampshire being a province because it's the origin of the name for the U.S. state of New Hampshire.
