Hi. Does it need extractor buildings? I know it sounds like a silly question, but my reasoning is: if they need them, and considering they are plantations, what are the "forest areas" on your resources mapmode for? One would think your forest industry gather resources from... well, forests. Maybe these extractor buildings don't work (or do it with a very low efficiency anyway) outside a green area? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

A few trees do not make a forest. It needs to be heavily wooded. You can plant trees from the landscaping tool and make your own forestry areas.

The tree farms you plop are harvesting the timber and take them to be processed into lumber and other things. Then lumber get sent to the factories to make goods that go to commerce to be sold.

You could probably have Googled the info much more quickly:

Thanks guys. I asked because this particular industry asks you to plant (build) trees over actual trees (forest zones), if that makes sense. It's not like the others, where you build a machine over a mineral or ore pocket, for example. With forest ind., it's as if you have to build the resource itself... on top of the resource itself.
