How does Confucian colonial nations deal with conquered heathen lands?

As titled, I mean, its pretty difficult to colonize most of the new world peacefully by yourself. Colonies especially Mexico and Peru ones will gain a lot of heathen land from the natives and I have no idea how does it handle these lands. Like it will probably take them ages to harmonize and I don't even know if they do that, they have no tolerance and they don't seem to convert them either. What's even worse is I have seen my colonial nations take denounce neo-Confucianism for that +1 unrest but then still didn't convert anything...

I mean, this is pretty problematic its like Confucianism is already very weak (Takes ages to harmonize and get bonuses, low tolerance of true faith, can't convert anything, high penalty for low harmony etc) and now we can't even play colonial "normally" because doing colonial wars will give highly intolerant land from to colonies.

At least it would be nice if PDX can make something like colonial nations automatically gets their overlord's harmonized religions, or you can spend something to make them "inherit" your harmonized religions. But the best would be allow 2 playstyles of Confucianism which is the harmony way or the convert way, don't make the harmony way the only way.

A word of warning if you're also Manchu - Manchu colonial nations will still engage to some degree in the dance where they raise banners only to disband and re-raise them later. Colonial nations can't rid themselves of corruption in an effective way since they never raise the slider beyond -0.25 AFAIK.

Funny how the DLC makes the religion worse in almost every possible way...Same for Emperor of China. Both had interesting ideas but poorly executed. Like they say all Chinese Emperors are legit so they don't use Legitimacy, but then you don't get the absolutism from legitimacy (and no other ways to get a substitute).

Colonial nations will eventually Harmonize.

A word of warning if you're also Manchu - Manchu colonial nations will still engage to some degree in the dance where they raise banners only to disband and re-raise them later. Colonial nations can't rid themselves of corruption in an effective way since they never raise the slider beyond -0.25 AFAIK.

That is a good thing though, since it will give them -20 unrest in each province when at 100 corruption.

Worse in terms of power, sure. Some of the mechanics seem like they could be interesting to play with if you're more of a role-player. Problem is I find when I'm trying to play more like a role-player for a more 'relaxed game' I find that there just isn't a whole lot to do. Trying to develop my lands as efficiently as possible makes for a nice puzzle, but it is a puzzle and once you solve it it's not that interesting anymore.

I mean, I guess you could pick Prussia, use the console to give yourself a million manpower and then not know how to beat (or even declare war on) the Ottomans, but for some reason I don't find that terribly appealing.

But really, half the time I tell myself I won't conquer too much I end up blobbing anyway because I can't help but pursue good opportunities for expansion and the other half the time I get bored before 1550 and move on to a new run. So if the devs are going to keep putting stuff in that 'seems like it could be interesting but isn't mechanically powerful' then they need to make the game more interesting to play when you aren't trying to conquer the world.

Problem with Confucian is not only is it not mechanically strong, the main thing is it is very boring as it limits your choices. For almost all other religions you get choices (sliders of 0 to 100 or -100 to 100 or selective bonuses) but for Confucian there is nothing to do other than not convert, wait gazillion years for harmony to go up, then harmonize one religion, and repeat. One dev converted costs 1 harmony so basically there's no other way to play Confucian other than the previously mentioned way... It doesn't make it feel fun for me in terms of role-play when whether or not you chose to go a RP style you had to do the same thing religiously over and over again because no one can every afford to get 0 harmony and constantly convert. It makes the denounce neo-confucianism and religious ideas for Confucian nations a fking joke.

Confucian would be much more engaging if you could harmonize multiple religions at once under harsh penalties.
Not only could that bring an interesting challenge for the powergamer and the RP's, it would potentialy make it worthwhile switching to it later.

If you dont start with or right next to Confucian it is completely unviable as a choice for later.
