my character's health right now has it just a little under 4 with sturdy (+1) and nothing else, meaning it started even lower. I know 'typical' is 4, but where does the variance come in? is it genetic or completely random?
How does base health get determined?

I think that the average base is 5, if you keep getting average 4 then health might be genetic, but i do not think it is
