Battles on the land went on very well. Washington/Oregon/Idaho became part of glorious Kindom of Krakow on Day One of the war. Troops regrouped as 2nd Calvalry Army Corp and advance into Dakota, facing no resistance at all. 1st Calvalry Army Corp did not manage to arrive in Ontario in time. Therefore, they turned south at Winnipeg, invaded from Minnesota towards Chicago. 1st Infantry Army Corp only enjoyed very few good days when taking Easton, Maine. Soon they were challenged by US. Although Krakow troops had a numerical supremacy of 7:1, hilly and woody terrain made combat casualty much higher than expected. 2nd Infantry Army Corp landed at Freetown. Liberia had two divisions to guard their captial, but obviouly no match to Krakow's "Afrikan Korp".
Two weeks into the war, bad news came from America. Instead of taking the advantage and to counterattack US troops on Mexican soil, Mexico agreed truce with USA. About 10 US divisions were freed and reportedly were rushing all the way up north to stop Krakow calvalries.
"Cowards!" Krawow was furious on Mexico's decision to pull out of the war. Krakow entered the war because of Mexico, and Pope's secret request. Now, Krakow is left to fight USA alone. Well, not really, with the assistance from, ironically, a protestant United Kingdom!
What people didn' know yet was that a more scary and potentially disastrous news would arrive a few days later, from the Atlantic!
Because Krakow had no navy to talk about, Krakow's victorious troops in Africa would have to wait until Royal Navy had neutralise US Navy, then to be ferried to America. What Krakow troops did not expect was that just before they were to land, a mighty French fleet all of a sudden showed up and started shelling Krakow convoys!
Krakow requested help from nearby British patrol. Britain refused to help! The reason was simple - Britain was NOT at war with France! Utterly gutted, but difficult to argue, Krakow retreated to The Bahamas. Fortunately, although severely damaged, no ship was sunk. If Krakow was not so lucky, 25% of Krakow's military, over 70000 lives would have been lost! The troops were forced to rest on the beaches in Bahamas whilest their brothers were fighting to their death. Admittedly, quite many infantrymen had been so shocked that were deemed unfit for any further combat.
First Sea Lord was forced to resign. People on the streets were shouting "We need a navy! We need warships!". Despite publish gathering were still officially banned in Krakow, King gave exception to patriotic public meetings so as to beat war exhaustion and defeatism. Before long, announcement was made: two man-o-war are under contruction in Sydney, New South Wales!
